a traditional day at the lakes
A few years back, I was feeling out some ideas
for a project proposal, and one of these
sketches just started taking on a life
of its own as a brutal and clean roadster.
Taking spare time, I refined some ideas,
and the result is here on the right...
It's a traditional, grass-roots style lakes
roadster with a decidedly refined and modern
approach, with a killer, low stance,
radically chopped and raked windshield,
and just looks like it's always moving.
Set in the heat of a day on the lake bed, this
is one of my favorite pieces, and throws
a bunch of detail without going overboard.
Muted and bold colors provide the drama while
the serene curve of the mountains brings
in the mellow mood. Ready to frame.
