'62 Bubbletop
currenly under construction @ Rad Rides by Troy
I love working with Troy and the gang at Rad Rides, not only because the conversation is always supremely entertaining, but simply because they can build literally anything my warped brain conceives.
This '62 Impala is a fun project that is deceptively mild-looking. Troy and I had a few long discussions regarding how and what to cut up, and when the pencil lead and shavings settled, we wound up with something clean, aggressive, and eerily subtle.
With that trademark stance, subdued color (with contrasting interior shade, just because), the car is a tour-de-force of quality craftsmanship, and a lesson in metalwork. The bumpers are works of art, and this high-powered monster should see pavement soon. |

Tri-Five Interior
it's what's inside that counts
Like that faucet commercial, I was handed a late-model Mustang shifter, and asked to design a '55 interior around it. I love a challenge.
Rather than lose the character that makes a '55 Chevy a, well, '55 Chevy, I took the sport and luxury route, and crafted a classy touring environment, devoid of trendy gimmicks and carbon fiber everything.
The designs are typical of my work, including numerous notes and transparent views to guide your trim shop, as well as convey the ideas in plain language. |

C2ZR1
mixing old and new -- car completed 2010
This project actually began several years ago, and, amazingly, once rolling full-speed, the car was built in a matter of nine months.
Cleaning up the stock '64 Vette design was terrifying, as such an iconic set of lines can be easily messed-up, but with careful restraint, the end result is modern, yet timeless. A ton of subtle ideas came into play, from the re-worked side vents and hood scoop, to the handles, light deletion and that carbon fiber roof. |

CAB's Coupe
an iconic ride for an iconic skateboard master
To say that we're fans of Steve Caballero would be an understatement. Some four years ao, our board master friend gave a yell, and wanted to do an art trade... a piece of his work for one of mine. I love collecting the work of friends, so it was on.
I doodled his Model-A in a fiery California sunset, complete with a dragon (hey, this is CAB, after all!), and detailed the snot out of the gold and scalloped monster. I just let loose and had fun. In return? I have a killer stencil art piece that commands instant attention from all visitors to the Studio. Awesome. |
