NASCAR Torino
currenly under construction @ Rad Rides by Troy

There's something about drawing a car
when you're angry. The energy often works
its way into the art, and occasionally it takes
on a life all its own.

Case in point: George's Torino.

Troy gave a shout to take the then
in-progress car to a new level and
direction. I obliged, and sliced it
every which way possible. After all,
when you have the best fabricators
in the world building what you draw,
there are, literally, no constraints.
The decision was made to throw the
envelope away, and forge a whole
new path, leaving nothing but
vaporized rubber behind.

NASCAR feel, angry car looks.

Street machines of the future,
you're welcome.

Cadillac CTSV-61
as seen in Street Rodder Magazine, June 2011

I was approached by our pal Tim Bernsau at Street Rodder Magazine to contribute a piece based on Brian Brennan's "Street Cruiser" editorial, and I took the "odd route" with a sedan. Why not?

The '61 is a greaty-looking car, and while I could have toyed with a four-window sedan, it just seemed too easy. The six-window presents a few re-design hurdles, and that's where the fun always hides.

I created a street cruiser/luxury sedan, mashing Brennan's ideas for old powerplants and new transmissions, keeping (and beefing) the stock mill with a ProCharger, and throwing a TON of subtle body mods and trim finishes at this land yacht. Grab this issue for the little details.

Stuck in the Seventies
shop truck SEMA Show vehicle rendering

When Tim suggested that we sketch up
some ideas for a new shop truck, I got
a little excited. I've had this idea
rolling around in my brain for a long time.

A cool, retro-inspired hauler that
mixed old and new school, with a little
down-and-dirty hot rod feel.

Why not?

...and that earthy-tone paint scheme,
well... it just feels right, you know?

If you're going to build a big hauler,
why not do it with some attitude?

For Strange Motion's 2011 SEMA Show
vehicle, I took everything that looked
tough on the Chevy, and put it
through boot camp, then starved it.
After all, tough and hungry often combine
for a memorable look.

This drawing marked a new direction for
my work, and was the inspiration
for the AutoWeek 2012 Calendar art.
Bolder lines, blocked color, loose
textures and extreme detail.

A ton of thought went into every piece,
and all parts were designed with
assembly line fabrication in mind,
meaning that we could offer this look
to anyone looking for the baddest
ride in town. Seriously.

Look for it in Vegas this November.

Strange Fleetline
Tim's mild SEMA ride

Tim's been hunting for a Fleetline for
some time, and whn he found the
right one, he thankfully gave me a shout
to pen some art again.

It's mild, and packs a bunch of little
details that make you look twice.
After all, this is Tim we're talking about.

Just a down-and-dirty drawing that allowed
me to have fun in the little details.

Give me a shout, and I'll do the same
with your ideas, without
breaking the budget.
